That may seem like a strange question -- or maybe not.
Moses prayed a prayer in Numbers 27:16-17 that is a primary consideration whenever we start a new church. He prayed --
"Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd."
What that says to us is that there are really two calls on our lives. Yes, the Lord has called me to preach the gospel, raise up leaders, and start churches. But the second call is the cry of people for a pastor.
We are coming to The Triangle with the confidence that there is a "congregation" calling. Hence, the question -- Are You A Member?
Are you a member of the Body Of Christ?
Have you repented of your sins and asked God's forgiveness? Are you living your life with a continual willingness to be transformed into the image of Christ? Are you born again? If you died today, would you spend eternity in glory or would you go to hell?
Are you a member of a local church?
Are you an active member of a local body where you are learning the word, fellowshipping with the saints, and serving the community? Are you growing toward maturity -- a maturity that produces fruit?
We are meeting so many people who have grown 'weary' with church. Perhaps they have been disappointed or they have become disillusioned and have decided to just "worship on their own." But deep inside they long for fellowship. They long for their church. They long for their pastor. Perhaps Encouraging Word Church is the answer to your cry.
Are you a member of God's glorious harvest reaping Soul Winning network?
The surest sign of maturity in any species is its desire and ability to reproduce. Most studies show that only one in twenty Christians has ever led anybody to Christ. We want to change that.
We are not just gathering together -- meeting on Sundays and Thursdays for another series or 'bless me' meetings. We are gathering to gather -- learning, praying, preparing, planning, and laboring to gather in the glorious harvest that Jesus said was "already white to harvest" (John 4:35-38).
Are you a member of the family of God?
Moses prayed to "the God of the spirits of all flesh." ALL FLESH. Joel prophesied that God would pour out his spirit upon all flesh. Peter rehearsed Joel's prophesy after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the upper room, saying that God had poured out of His spirit upon ALL FLESH.
97% of all churches are completely segregated and in the words of Martin Luther King, Jr., 11:00 remains the most segregated hour in America." Eternity will be intergrated. Whether you go to heaven or hell, there will be people of all ethnicities there. Would you rather be in heaven with people who have learned to love you because they loved God? Or would you rather be in hell with people who spent their lives hating others because, in truth, they hated God?
We believe God intends for the body of Christ, especially as it is manifest in the local church, His family, to be a preparatory reflection of the great gathering described in Revelation 7:9-15 --
"After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them."
If that sounds like your idea of church, maybe you are a member. We look forward to worshipping and working with you soon.
